" Each One Teach One "
Education is the only investment and true weapon in times of need.
Bogwang Academy is a free school run by Borisu Sesang Foundation in Sravasti district, Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with the Namkuk Buddhist Society of India / Korea — active for over 20 years.
The Academy provides quality education that helps students discover their strengths, overcome their weaknesses, and realize their potential — equipping them with the intellectual, social, and emotional skills to face life's challenges.
The foundation was inspired by our founder's late grandmother, who personally brought disadvantaged children to her home for education. That very residence was later converted into a government school — a living testament to the power of one person's compassion.
Three pillars of support that keep every child at Bogwang Academy — books, food, and clothing.
Beyond books, food, and clothing — a wider circle of care for students, women, and communities.
Merit and need-based scholarships supporting deserving students from underprivileged backgrounds to continue their education beyond Bogwang Academy and into higher studies.
Digital literacy classes equip Bogwang Academy students with technology skills for the modern world — bridging the gap between rural children and urban opportunities.
Awareness and skill-building programmes for mothers and women in the Sravasti community, helping them become self-reliant and advocates for their children's education.
Basic health check-ups, hygiene education, and a dedicated Medicine Room at Bogwang Academy ensure students and their families have access to essential healthcare.
Environmental awareness drives and tree-plantation campaigns build a sense of responsibility and stewardship for the natural world among students and the wider community.
Over 248 children from Nursery to Class 12 are available for individual sponsorship. Sponsors receive regular updates and can correspond with their sponsored child at Bogwang Academy.
Following the devastating 2015 earthquake, Borisu Sesang Foundation worked alongside our Nepali NGO partners to provide immediate relief — distributing food, blankets, and clean water to affected families in Taple, Nepal.
We then rebuilt the school from the ground up — constructing classrooms, a library, a medicine room, toilet facilities, and a school entrance — ensuring children could return to education as quickly as possible.
The school at Taple, Nepal was successfully reopened, welcoming students back through its doors after reconstruction.
Every contribution — books, food, clothing, or a monetary donation — directly reaches a child at Bogwang Academy in Sravasti, Uttar Pradesh.
